Mango People Cosmetics shattered barriers when it came to clean makeup that does well for your skin. The founder showed how beauty and science can intermingle. From creamy formulas to its Indian culture tribute, the company is a trendsetter all around. This blog post is a Mango People review, all about whether or not their products are worth the hype. Spoiler alert: they are definitely worth it. Find out why below 🙂
Background
As an oily skin girl, I was both excited and nervous to try these products. I was excited because these seemed like a really easy-to-use, blendable formula from a small AAPI brand, and nervous because cream products don’t always work for oily skin types. I have a medium-tan olive skin tone, with some acne and textured skin for reference.
Mango People Multisticks
The multisticks were the first products I was introduced to from this brand and, I must say, they are amazing. The colors are vibrant and well-suited for brown skin tones, from natural to more fun colors. I have three sades – Jaipur, Gulabi, and Peach. Jaipur is by far my favorite for an everyday youthful blush while Gulabi is a more muted version of Jaipur. Peach is a fun color to pull out in the summer months since it’s a brighter, more punchy red-orange. All three shades suit my skin tone well and blend easily. The products have great pigment payoff and do not emphasize texture.
Mango People Bronzer Stick
The shade Dune is amazing for skin tones similar to mine, and even a few shades darker. This is a true cream bronzer with slight red tones that bring warmth to the skin. The shade is mostly neutral but does lean the slightest bit warm. Although you could use it as a contour stick, I find that it would need to be a bit more neutral to work effectively for that purpose. The bronzer has the same creamy formula and strong pigment. I find that I use less product than the blush to get the depth I am looking for.
Mango People Highlighter
This is the most emollient of the bunch, but it still has a wonderful texture. The shade Morning Light is gorgeous, with light reflecting shine without the glitter particles. However, the shade does lean a bit icy and cool-toned so I find myself not reaching for it as often as the other products.
Packaging
The packaging on each of these is luxurious- a heavy case that has a magnetic closure with an easy twist-up. You can tell Mango People spent time creating something that wouldn’t get destroyed easily. My only tiny hiccup is that the product case scratches easily, meaning the colored coating on the outside comes off, and the inner metal shows. But it is something easy to look past because you know your product won’t get destroyed inside. Plus, I appreciate that the product can’t twist up with closed because of the way the lid seals everything.
Overall Product Formulation
Every product from Mango People is creamy and blendable but dries down to a natural finish. The formula is a bit of the thicker side so oily skin tones may need to set it with a powder but at the same time it is still a lightweight balm texture. The products have amazing color payoff and don’t emphasize texture which are both huge wins in my books.
The products are easy to travel with and you can use your fingers to work on the product. A little goes a long way (not like the Rare Beauty blushes but one swipe is all you need) and with the balm-like texture, you do feel like you are putting skincare on as makeup.
Lastly, the products are pretty budge-proof when it comes to creamy formulations and are a safe bet for easy summer looks, Of course, to really lock it in place you will still need some powder, but otherwise they give a natural finish that will last almost all day!
Final Thoughts
If you are thinking about trying Mango People cosmetics, I think their products are amazing. Although I’ll ask you to first finish products in your collection to be a bit more sustainable, these are great, no-fuss products that you can take from natural to glam looks. You can’t go wrong with trying any of their products. I hope you found this Mango People Review helpful!
