Ever notice how you try to recreate makeup looks from creators and they just don’t look the same on your skin? That’s because brown skin needs different undertones and colors to get the same effect. In this blog post, I’ll walk you through the only products you need to create a spring makeup look on brown skin. Let’s get started! And don’t worry, this is very beginner-friendly.

The Base of a Spring Makeup Look
A spring makeup look means dewy, fresh skin and natural makeup. We want to highlight our skin’s natural glow. For a truly simple spring makeup look, skip foundation and go straight to concealer. However, use your favorite foundation to create a base that makes you feel confident.
Next, add a bit of concealer under your eyes, on the inner and outer corners. Less is more here, just use a few dots. Blend in using your finger, a sponge, or a brush, whatever works for you.
Lastly, set everything with your favorite setting powder. Just like that, the makeup base for this spring makeup look is done.
Eye Makeup for a Spring Makeup Look
Now for the eyes. We want to emphasize our naturally beautiful brown skin tones here. Start by taking a neutral brown shade and adding it to your eyelid. Using a light hand and a windshield wiper motion, brush the product back and forth to blend. Focus on the color in the crease and outer two-thirds of the eyelid. When done, it should just look like you added a hint of color.
Now, take a shimmer shade and apply it to the inner one-third of your eyelid. I find it easiest to do so with my finger. If you have a medium brown skin tone, try using a warm champagne shade. If you have a deeper brown skin tone, go for a gold shade.
Using your finger or a brush, blend the area where the shimmer shade meets the brown shade for a cohesive transition.
Lastly, add your favorite mascara to your lashes. If you want to take it a step further, use brown or black eyeliner across your waterline. With that done, the eye makeup is complete for this spring makeup look.

Finishing Touches for a Spring Makeup Look
The finishing touches are what will really bring this spring makeup look for brown skin together.
Use a peach or coral blush shade to get a beautiful natural flush. If your skin tone is deeper, you can also try a richer cherry red shade. Regardless of color and formula, focus the product just below your cheekbone, just a few millimeters down. Create a “C” shape with blush by applying the product to the cheekbone area up to the brow. This will give your face a more lifted look. Avoid bringing the blush to the center of your face or too much on the apples of your cheek.
Next, pick out a neutral pink lip color to bring the whole look together. Something that is your lip color but better. Lastly, top off the look with your favorite lipgloss, or just skip to this step if you aren’t a fan of lipstick.
