Read for 10 Minutes
We all know that knowledge is gold. It’s how we progress, innovate for new ideas, and keep our minds sharp. Reading for just 10 minutes a day is one of those quick healthy habits that takes no time, but benefits you like crazy.
Try to sit down for a few minutes every day to absorb some information, whether in the evening or after work. You’ll quickly realize how beneficial this little healthy habit is.
Journal 3 Sentence
Being in tune with our emotions and feelings may sound cheesy, but it gives us both social and emotional intelligence. When we are more self-aware, we can also be a better friend, roommates, and family members.
This is another one of those quick healthy habits that can pay dividends in the future. Just take less than 5 minutes every day to jot down a few of the best things that happened that day or something that made you happy.

Take 5 Deep Breaths
Meditation is a self-care and self-awareness practice that has been taught for centuries. We know the benefits of being calm, less stressed, and just healthier overall. However, many find meditation to be a difficult healthy habit to stay consistent with.

Instead, try to just take 5 deep breaths every night right before sleeping. Do this healthy habit while lying down, with the lights turned off. You’ll feel the tension and stress leave your body. You’ll also feel your mind and body relax, hopefully letting you fall asleep quicker.
This is a healthy habit that you’ll thank me later for. 🙂
Move for 20 Minutes
Exercise and weight training are important, but it’s a healthy habit that’s not always easy to implement. When we fail to go to the gym once or twice, we feel worse about ourselves, creating an endless cycle of laziness. Instead, shift your mind to movement for this healthy habit.
At a minimum, this healthy habit means moving your body for 20 minutes a day whether it is a walk, run, going up and down the stairs, a dance party, etc. Active movement is important at baseline.
You’ll realize how good you feel when you’re active in this way which will push you to stay more consistent and the gym as well.
This healthy habit is all about starting the foundation of movement.

Establish a Flexible Routine
Routines are not often for our 20s. We love the spontaneity and craziness of having every day be different. However, I like to believe that having a few standard routines as part of my healthy habits helps me feel good and look good regardless of what the rest of the day looks like.
For this healthy habit, establish a quick morning and night routine to help energize and relax your body, respectively.
In the mornings that means brushing my teeth, washing my face, and eating a good breakfast. In the evenings, it means a quick shower, brushing my teeth, my skincare routine, and a few of the healthy habits above.
These routines are healthy habits that won’t take long but will make you feel like you have your life together.
Bonus: Drink Water before Coffee
In the morning, chug some water after brushing your teeth. You’ll feel so energized, you won’t even need coffee for a bit. We get so dehydrated while we sleep so this is a healthy habit that can really help our bodies.
Keep a reusable water bottle next to your bed and have at least 8oz in the morning to replenish your body.
Final Thoughts
Establishing healthy habits is all about starting at the foundation of each action you want to implement. In total, these healthy habits take less than 30 minutes a day but will make you feel like you are on top of the world. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve implemented any of these!
