It is so easy to get distracted these days when Netflix is just a few clicks away, and Instagram is constantly open. Even when you are trying to build an online or social media presence, “research” can quickly turn into doom scrolling. In this blog, we will walk through seven habits you can do to boost your productivity and achieve your goals.
Do a Brain Dump
Doing a brain dump is something I talk about so often. If you want to boost your productivity, do a brain dump. Just list out everything on your mind: tasks, errands, or even thoughts you might have. This takes everything out of your brain and onto something you can easily visualize. You’ll probably already feel closer to being able to focus and achieve your goals with this new mental clarity.
Create Daily Routines
Daily routines help create a structure for our days and also help give us definite start and end points for our work day. Doing this will boost your productivity because your brain knows when to work versus relax. You don’t need an extravagant routine. Simple things like washing your face and brushing your teeth before looking at your phone are enough to get you one step closer to achieving your goals. Have quick 10-15 minute routines you can do in the morning to make yourself feel more productive throughout the day.

Prioritize 2 Tasks a Day
Often, we overload our day with too many tasks. The list becomes too overwhelming, and we end up doing nothing because it is too much to handle. To boost your productivity and achieve your goals, you need to give yourself the room to and space to do so. Instead of creating an entire to-do list to try and check off, just think about 2-3 tasks that will make you feel accomplished if you did them today.
This works because you are putting less pressure on the amount of things you get done and instead prioritizing what will make you feel like you took a step in the right direction. Every task accomplished after that is just a motivational bonus. You’ll boost your productivity when you complete two prioritized tasks and then a couple extra ones as opposed to leaving items unfinished at the end of the day.
Get Some Sunlight
We undervalue the importance of getting some sunlight when it comes to boosting our productivity and mental health. To be productive, you need to be in the right mindset to want to achieve your goals. If you spend each day just tied to your desk, you will quickly burn out. Getting outside and getting a few moments with nature can help you relax and take a break from work. When it’s time to start being productive again, you’ll feel so much more energized.

Move Around
Do you ever feel more tired on the days you don’t work out compared to the days you do? That’s because moving our bodies gives us a dopamine and adrenaline rush that fuels our body and mind. It helps you be more creative and gives you more energy to achieve your goals. Even if it’s just for 15 minutes a day, get some movement in. The much-needed break will allow you to boost your productivity when you come back to work.
Change Your Environment
Remember, being productive is not about working all hours of the day. It’s about having strong sprints of deep focused work that allow you to enjoy the rest of your time. If you feel like you are just constantly sitting at your desk but not getting anything done, try changing your environment to boost your productivity.
Even just moving from the desk to the kitchen table can help you achieve your goals by giving you a new environment to think and create in. It breaks up the monotony your mind has gotten used to and allows you to boost your productivity simply by shifting to a new space.
Break Down Tasks
The biggest productivity roadblock is having a task that is too big. When tasks are too big, they become overwhelming. When tasks are overwhelming, you don’t feel like doing them at all. The best way to boost your productivity and achieve your goals in these situations is by breaking down the task in two ways.
First, you can break down the task into milestones. For example, thinking of three blog post ideas, writing a blog post, editing a blog post, and publishing a blog post are all milestones for a post on my blog. Instead of making it something that will last for hours, I can hit one milestone today and another tomorrow.
Second, break down tasks by time. If the milestone thing isn’t working, give yourself a time block to boost productivity. Tell yourself that for the next 30 minutes, you’ll work on blog content. When that time is up, you’re done. This way, you get into a deep focus mode because you have limited time to achieve your goals.

Visualize Success
I’m not much into manifesting, but I do think visualizing your goals helps you to achieve them. By knowing exactly what you are working towards, you are more motivated to work. This motivation can boost your productivity. Whether it is getting an extra $2,000 a month or a new car, visualize what you are trying to achieve.
Think Positively
Negative thinking is another huge detriment of productivity. If you want to achieve your goals, you need to tell yourself that you really can do it. If you always say you can’t do something, you won’t achieve it because you are not motivated to work towards it. Positive thinking is a great way to remind yourself that you are learning along the journey and that what you are doing is worthwhile. Having a positive mindset can help more than you think.
